1 in 4 people will experience some kind of mental health problem in the course of a year.

1 in 6 of us experience this at any given time.

It is estimated that approximately 450 million people worldwide have a mental health problem.




Some time, past present or future, there is a high chance any one of us will suffer with some kind of mental health issue. This may happen once,  be a reoccurring problem, or become an illness we'll learn to control and live with throughout life.
What's important to remember is that it can be controlled, and many people recover from their illness with no further reoccurance.



Every year, 'Keep Hope Alive' week is hosted by #Mental-IllnessClub, focusing on positivity, support and trying to continue raising awareness within the dA community.

Over the course of the week (5th-11th August) everyone, even non-members, can enter submissions or take part in any activities. Please come and take a look! We hope this will be helpful in connecting with other people who have gone through similar experiences, and hopefully this will encourage people who may be interested in the group but aren't sure if they'd like to join to drop in and see what we are about!

Mental illness effects such a large portion of the population, common illnesses including depression, types of anxiety, phobias, schizophrenia and eating disorders, and #Mental-IllnessClub are trying to raise awareness about all types of illness and help get rid of the stigma and misunderstandings surrounding it, whilst welcoming people to share their experiences and express themselves through their art and submissions.
'Keep Hope Alive' also coincides with #Mental-IllnessClub's birthday! (What a coincidence? ) Happy birthday to us!
